I get it the aesthetic is stunning. The color palette? To die for. Quality? Phenomenal.
But at what cost?
Are we using products that contain toxic ingredients that can compromise our wellness & healing? with this brand, the answer is most likely yes.
Which is so unfortunate. The consistencies are gorgeous, the shades are beautiful, and the packaging is so aesthetically pleasing.
But I believe we should choose healthy alternatives whenever possible. And considering you’re here, you inclined too as well!
Luckily, there are some non-toxic makeup brands out there that are providing a more vast market for clean makeup.
But! I want to first make a little disclaimer about standards of “clean beauty.” Just because Sephora or Ulta slaps a green sticker on a product doesn’t (DOESN’T) necessarily make it “non-toxic.”

related: why you need organic, non-toxic cosmetics
Afterall, the beauty brands “clean standard” is almost as lax as the FDA’s. For more on this, click here. Anyways, I just wanted to inform you that while all of these products may not pass the strict ECOCERT COSMOS Certified Organic’s Standard (which is ideal), they are truly some of the best options out there on the market.
One more thing and then I” move on… I’m not trying to hit the panic button over here. Our bodies are incredible and were made to handle and expel toxins. But in today’s world we can easily overload our bodies detoxification capacity through dietary, cosmetic, and environmental toxins we are exposed to daily.
There’s no need to stress, just make healthier, non-toxic choices wherever you can. Hopefully, this short post helps out!
Beauty Highlighter Wand Dupe
Hydroxyacetophenone: although this ingredient is reportedly used as a skin conditioning agent, it is linked to skin irritation. It is considered a toxic, hazardous substance. Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone is also believed by some to act as a toxic carcinogen. So why not look at a healthier alternative?

Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder
One word: TALC. When inhaled talc can be toxic. And considering talc-ridden-makeup is most frequently in powder form, this should sound the alarm for some.

Clean Dupe: ILIA Radiant Translucent Powder SPF 20
This talc-free powder contains non-toxic replacements like Mica, Certified Organic Zea Mays Starch, and Kaolin Clay. It also uses Organic Aloe Leaf, Hibiscus Extract, Rosemary, and Thyme Leaf to provide a smoother consistency. This powder also gives you some sun protection using the cleanest known form of SPF: Non-Nano Zinc Oxide!
Again, I believe in choosing healthier alternative wherever possible. It is important to note that extreme adverse effects of these toxins are generally considered rare (although, that depends on your definition of adverse effects. i.e. serious illness or allergies…).
Overall, reducing your daily dose of toxins is always beneficial to holistic healing. As I mentioned before, I’ve written a whole post on the importance of non-toxic cosmetics and the harmful effects of some of the most common synthetics.
