4 Things I Drink Everyday for Optimal Health & Wellness

Please don’t tell me I am the only one who hates drinking just water all day every day. How boring is that?

I need options. I plan on maintaining this holistic lifestyle until the day I die, but I don’t want to die early of boredom.

So, your diet, fitness routine, morning/evening routines, they have to stay exciting and interesting. Even challenging.

If you grow bored and hate doing something, you’re far less likely to keep doing it, right?

Anyways, water all day everyday bores me (to tears, actually). I thought I would tell you about the beverages I’ve been obsessed with lately that are both satisfying to the soul and nurturing to the body.

It’s nothing elaborate. They’re very simple, yet extremely beneficial.

1. Electrolyte Water

So I thought my normal 3 liters of water a day was just fine. But upon further investigation (i.e., an IG post), I realized I checked several boxes that suggested I could be deficient in salt.

I’ve always enjoyed lemon with my water and decided I would simply begin adding pink Himalayan sea salt.

Salt gets a disproportionate amount of hate. We’ve been told that sodium is the enemy. But salt is actually the one substance our body needs but can’t produce on its own. So it’s important that we consume healthy amounts of it.

One more thing before we get into the benefits of salt lemon water. It is ideal to consume this first thing in the morning.

After 8 hours of sleep, our bodies are very dehydrated. Plain water isn’t good enough. Our top priority first thing in the morning should be to deeply hydrate ourselves.

This not only will energize us sooner, but kick off our body for a new day. If you feel sluggish the first few hours upon waking, you should give this a try.

  • Is Anti-Inflammatory

2. Green Juice

I know green juices get a lot of hate from certain members of the nutrition community, but I personally notice the biggest difference when consuming them.

I’ve heard some say they are just glorified, expensive water, but my experience has been anything but that.

I first started drinking green juices every morning on an empty stomach around the same time celery juice became all the rage.

I wanted to see if it was complete BS, so I tried it out. 16 oz every morning on an empty stomach.

Oh, it was brutal at first. I almost vomited. But the second and third mornings weren’t so bad.

Within days I noticed healthier digestion, less water retention, and I felt more hydrated throughout the day. Within two weeks, I noticed brighter, more radiant skin.

Ever since then, I’ve been juicing. But I often add more than just celery. I pretty much throw in whatever is in season to ensure I get in as much nutrients as possible.

3. Mold-Free Coffee

I, like most other humans, immensely enjoy coffee. It’s great for every occasion. It’s bliss in a cup. One of the greatest blessings of nature.

And when consumed in healthy amounts, coffee is actually extremely beneficial!

But there’s a catch. Most coffee contains mold. I’ve written another post about Why You Need Mold Free Coffee, where I go into the potential negative effects it can have over time.

But, here you just need to know that mold-ridden coffee can setback the natural benefits coffee contains.

Unfortunately, most brands are not third-party tested, and therefore, contain mold.

4. MCT Matcha Green Tea

I’ve never been a tea drinker. I’ve tired several times to get into it with no success.

Which was unfortunate because no matter what dietary/health/wellness I read, there was always a moment of praise for green tea and it’s benefits.

I decided I would try iced matcha green tea lattes and I would now like to announce I am no longer repulsed by green tea.

green tea + mct

When making a latte, you needed something for creaminess. But most plant milks are full of additives, gums, and fillers that are linked to poor gut health.

I usually opt for this coconut milk powder, which naturally contains MCTs. MCTs + green tea creates the ultimate health duo. You can use a pure coconut milk as well (again, just ensure it isn’t full of additives, sweeteners, or gums).
